What makes it special? Operated by Jamshed and Ayesha Madon, the owner’s of speciality Italian restaurant J&A’s, this charming house is locaed in the Goan village of Parra. A stay here is a homely affair, with the family, staff and pets always around the house and home-cooked meals on request. Accommodation on offer is Heliconia, a first-floor room with hill views;Silk Cotton, an independent cottage in a a bamboo grove;; and Frangipani, a ground floor room ideal for single travellers.

Our gardens are filled with an abundance of sweet scented frangipani and Indian jasmine, interspersed with bamboo, gulmohour, mango, jackfruit and jambul trees that attract an amazing variety of birds and butterflies. Apart from nattily dressed black and white magpie robins and frowzy groups of babblers, there is every chance you will see any number of sunbirds, golden orioles, peacocks, tree pies, golden-backed woodpeckers and bulbuls without stirring from the shade of your veranda! We also organise birding trips with knowledgeable experts for interested guests both in our area and further afield. Chorao Island, Carambolim Lake, Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary are all excellent birdwatching destinations.
